The seaside city of Nice is situated on the French Riviera and is famous for its large number of beautiful beaches. There are also hundreds of fantastic hotels to choose from and the best way to select accommodation is to use hotel listing sites like this one to find your hotel in Nice. Most of Nice’s beaches feature pebbles rather than sand, but there are a few stretches of sand situated nearby if you know where to look. Here is a selection of Nice’s best beaches:
La Reserve
This enchanting beach is situated within walking distance of the heart of Nice, and although this beach consists of pebbles rather than sand, the water that laps the shore is exceptionally clear and is ideal for swimming and practicing a range of water sports. The beach is situated next to Nice’s port and comes complete with a diving board. A number of amenities such as shops and restaurants also line the beach, which means that sun worshippers never have to wander far in search of refreshment. Visitors who want to make their way to La Reserve to soak up the sun and unwind for a few hours simply need to make their way to the port and follow the sea past the diving board.
La Plage Publique de Beau Rivage
This large public beach is situated at the eastern end of the beautiful Baies des Anges in a sheltered corner. La Plage Publique de Beau Rivage boasts an excellent range of amenities including several toilets, a life guard and hot showers. This is a good beach for families to relax by the Mediterranean sea, as the atmosphere here is calm and relaxing.

Blue Beach
This enchanting private beach is situated just a short stroll from some of the most prominent hotels in Nice such as the Palais de la Méditérranée and the Negresco. The beach restaurant here serves up a delicious range of dishes for sun lovers to enjoy while spending time on the beach, which makes this the perfect place for food lovers to hang out while working on their tans. In addition to sunbathing and swimming, Blue Beach offers an exciting range of activities for children to take part in, such as a trampoline and a children’s swimming pool.
Villefranche Plage
This beautiful beach is situated just a short drive from the heart of Nice in the neighboring town of Villefranche. One of the best things about this beach is that it boasts a long stretch of sand and it is open to the public free of charge. The beach is lined with good restaurants and a range of other eateries, while Villefranche Plage is also a great place to enjoy a picnic while soaking up the stunning scenery.
