If you’re looking for a place to stay that’s central to Toronto’s main attractions, has an awesome atmosphere and excellent standards, then the HI Toronto is the place to be. The staff are friendly, the dorms and bathrooms are clean and spacious (depending on what room you have – I was in a 10 bed female dorm, so there was a shared bathroom on my floor. If you get a 6 or 8 bed dorm, these have ensuite bathrooms and are a little smaller), the lobby is great place to hang out, there’s free wifi, a laundry room, a kitchen and even a café downstairs (that actually serves good food).
The hostel also does some great deals on city tours, the best by far being the $75 Discovery Package (we took advantage of this one), which includes a ticket for the CN Tower, a sightseeing tour of the city on an open-top bus and a day trip to Niagara Falls (which also takes you to a winery on the way back). Fantastic value for money and excellently planned out, it was definitely worth the money.
So all in all it’s a great place to stay – the beds are comfy, the people are nice and it really lived up to expectations.
