Last Days In Sydney

Last week ended with a pretty epic visit to our friend Bulmer’s farm, where we rode quad bikes, rounded up some cows, saw a brand new baby calf (literally about an hour old!), went out for dinner, played some drinking games and generally had a wicked time. It was awesome to get out of the city and see some of the Australian countryside, something we really would have got a chance to do otherwise, so thank you Bulmer!

We got back to the city early on Sunday evening and that night, after a yummy dinner, we said farewell to Matt, Vicky and Rachel for the week as they were getting the bus to Byron Bay, where we’d be catching up with them 5 days later after our visa interview at the US embassy (for when we go back to Camp for the summer).

Once it was just the two of us, me and Rosa became extremely lazy, sleeping in late, and chilling all day in Hyde Park in the sunshine before going out most evenings with either Mad Matt or Bulmer and friends.. We had some awesome evenings, in randoms bars and pubs around the city, and our last night was probably the best yet…Bulmer, Scott and Jen took us to Opera Bar (yep, you guessed it, the bar right next to the Opera House) for some drinks and to watch the sunset….beautiful. We’d got up super early that morning to go to our visa interview (all sorted and approved…phew!) so we’re pretty shattered by the time we’d had a few drinks, said goodbye to the boys (and Jen) and raced all the way to the other end of the city to catch our bus!

At about 10am yesterday morning, 12 hours later, we arrived safe and sound in Byron Bay, just in time to say hello and goodbye to Matt and Vicky who headed to Brisbane. So now it’s back to three of us again…let the adventures begin (again)!
