My travel plans are finally starting to come together. I’ve been emailing Chris (of Backpacker Banter and STA Travel) back and forth over the last week, getting all my dates and plans sorted, trying to decide what to do and where to go. He’s been fantastic, getting me the cheapest deals and giving me some great advice on things like tours and hostels.
I’ll be booking all my flights and my first tour in SE Asia (Roam Cambodia, for £499) in a couple of weeks when I get back from holiday (yes, I am off to Cuba, of all places!), but in the meantime…
…I just booked my hostel in Sydney for New Year’s! Aaahhhh. It’s suddenly VERY real. This time next year I will be in Australia, having already spent 6 weeks in South East Asia. And I cannot wait! So I’ll be travelling on my own for those first 6 weeks and then meeting 3 friends in Melbourne for Christmas, before we drive up to Sydney for New Year’s. We’ve booked so early (on Chris’ advice) because soon enough all the hostels will be completely fully booked, just because of the holiday season. We’ll be staying at Wake Up hostel, in the center of the city, a place that looks like it’ll be great fun for NYE.
As for the rest of the trip, I’ve got a so many ideas of things I want to do and places I want to go that it’s going to be hard to choose. So my plan is to not really have too much of a plan. Just set dates for arriving and leaving places, and the rest I can figure out on the way. Could this be more exciting?!
