A Product Review: Jackery Giant+

I’ve been after a portable charger to take on my travels for a while, so when I came across Jackery on my search, I was very excited to try it out.

Jackery have a number of different products to suit pretty much all of your charging requirements, from the tiny Jackery Mini or Jackery Air that will both fit in your pocket, to the enormous Jackery Giant+ that will enable you to stay plugged in for days.

I was given the opportunity to test out the Giant+, which is a fantastic piece of kit, allowing me to charge up to 2 USB devices at a time and keep me on the go for longer.

Let’s start with what I like, no LOVE, about the Giant+. Firstly the size and weight. I thought that a charger of its large capacity of 12000mAh was going to be big, bulky and heavy, but when I took it out of the box, I was pleasantly surprised. It fits right into my hand and is no heavier than a regular portable hard drive. Also, you can get it in a variety of different colours (mine’s bright orange), which I love – it’s always nice to have a bit of choice, right?!

Okay, now onto its capabilities:

– With 2 USB ports, it has the ability to charge two devices at the same time.

– Massive power capacity of 12000mAh.

– Supports super fast charging (1.5A).

– Has 3 LED lights to indicate charge status.

– Also has an awesome LED flashlight that can provide illumination for up to 800 hours!

– Charge time is 10 hours.

Yup, there are a lot of awesome features, I especially love the flashlight…so handy! And the best thing of all is that I can use it to charge my iPhone/iPad/Kindle many times over before I have to charge the Giant+ up again (see the chart below for full charge cycle info). And it’s so cheap too – you can buy it direct from the Jackery Store, or on Amazon for just $34.99!

When it comes to the things I dislike or would change, I had to think really hard about it, as honestly the Giant+ really does what it says on the tin. The only thing is that it doesn’t come with a charging cable (or at least, mine didn’t), so I had to find a mini USB cable (easy enough though – it’s the same as the Kindle charger) and plug it in to my computer to charge. But that’s not really a deal breaker though, or at least not for me!

Overall would I recommend the Jackery Giant+ as a tool to keep you on the go for longer?

Absolutely. I now carry it everywhere with me and it’s saved me quite a few times when my phone or iPad have been about to die on long journeys. Jackery are a great company with fab customer service and even better products that keep you connected for longer without breaking the bank!

*Note: I received a complimentary Jackery Giant+, but please rest assured that all opinions are honest and my own
