What a week it’s been. I’ve spent the week working at Camp Blue again, and have loved every minute of it. Yes I’ve been exhausted, and yes the kids know how to push every button in just the right way enough to make you go crazy, but I can honestly say that working with kids at camp (any camp) is the best job you’ll ever have and I wish I could do it every day of my life. Not only do I love the kids but I have love, love, loved the staff at this (Australian) summer camp too. We’ve made some really great bonds and I know I’ve got some pretty epic friends for life from this group of people. So much so that I was heaps sad to be leaving Sydney (without a definite return date) yesterday. But leave we did. Very early in the morning we (myself, Rosa, Tash and Bulmer) jumped in the car and drove the 10 hour journey all the way up the coast to Byron Bay, arriving in this awesome beach town almost dead on two years after I left in 2012. We’re staying in the Backpackers Inn Hostel and enjoyed an excellent first night out in various bars (yes we did hit up Cheeky Monkeys). And then today we ventured to the beach for some serious tanning, but not before capturing this awesome shot of the view from the direct path between our hostel and the beach. Oh beautiful Byron Bay, it’s good to be back!
