Yet another 2014 Travel Blog Round Up

Ok, so I’m a week late jumping on this bandwagon, but I was on holiday, and who has time to sit down in front of a computer when the alternative is to lie on a beach with a cocktail in hand?! I thought I’d join the travel blogging masses with a post about my year, and all the things I got up to in 2014 – have a read of my quick travel blog round up, then enjoy the photos that represent each month of the year.

This year has been a whirlwind of ups and downs, beginning and ending on the beach in Mauritius, with stays in 4 different countries in between. After my family holiday over Christmas and New Year last year, I headed back to Australia, where I’d been living since September. I worked for a few weeks in Sydney and went on a road trip to Byron Bay before living and working on an incredible farm. Then before I knew it, I was off to the USA for the summer, where I spent a few days on the West Coast with some friends, before flying across the country to New York and then on to Camp Sloane YMCA, where I spent the next 4 months working in the best job in the world. Soon enough though, summer was over and it was time to make my way home to the UK, after over 16 months away. I’m not going to lie, it was a bit of a shock to the system, and I can’t say I loved every minute, but overall it was nice to be home. I spent time with my family, hung out with friends (and even had a few visitors from around the world), and managed to find myself a job working as a nanny. During those last 3 months of the year, I didn’t do a lot to be honest – just worked and tried to enjoy life in London. There was a little trip to Amsterdam thrown in there somewhere around the end of October which was brilliant though, and reminded me how lucky I am to have the rest of Europe on my doorstep. Christmas swung around very fast and I soon found myself back on the beach, enjoying the last days of the year. And that’s about it. 2014. We out.

Here are my favourite photos from 2014 –  it was almost impossible to choose just one photo for each month, so here’s a selection!

January – 2 weeks working at Camp Blue in Sydney, then a 2 week road trip up the coast to Byron Bay.

February – Our first few weeks at Honeycomb Valley Farm, getting to know the animals. Oh and I won a whole bunch of Penny Skateboard gear.

March – Getting to grips with life at the farm, working at a farmer’s market, learning to spin honey and make candles, and an incredible night in Newcastle seeing Macklemore live!

April – Things got busy at the farm, so we moved into a caravan and had lots of animal cuddles.

May – It was time to say goodbye to the farm and everyone there (very sad), spend a fun week in Sydney, then it was time to hit the road and head back to the USA.
