Towards the end of my time in New York back in 2008, I ventured out to the port to catch the ferry over to Liberty and Ellis Islands, where I discovered that this National Monument is much larger (and taller) up close than I had ever thought! It was great to actually stand right underneath the Statue, and learn more about it’s history and what it represents.
