So as the title of this post suggests, it is now only two weeks until I depart for my epic RTW adventure. Where has the time gone? It seems like only yesterday that I was on the phone to Chris (from STA Travel and BackpackerBanter) booking all my flights…and that was in April, a whole 6 months ago!
I’ve been pretty busy these last few weeks getting everything ready for the trip (as well as working my ass off alphabetising a library to earn some last minute dollar), and I think I’m pretty much done with all the things on my to-do list.
I’ve had all my vaccinations (9 in total!), and got my malaria pills at the ready to start taking two days before my trip, and I think I’ve bought everything I need to buy (like toiletries and various bits n’ bobs). I’ve got my Thai Baht, got my visa for Vietnam, got my travel insurance; I’ve made my backpack the best it can be with a few modifications; I’m close to getting my visa and contract sorted for America and camp next summer…and the list goes on.
All that’s left to do now is say my last farewells to family and friends, pack my bag and then I’m off (here’s hoping the flooding in Thailand stops soon)!
