As you all know, I leave for my next big adventure around the world tomorrow evening and I honestly couldn’t be more excited. So for those you about to embark on something similar, I thought I’d let you know my top items that I’m taking with me to make with this trip just that little bit easier.
1. iPad 2 – so that I don’t have to lug my laptop around but can still have access to the internet (skype, facebook, twitter etc) and of course to keep blogging about my travels
2. Olympus Tough TG-610 – a great camera to have when you dont know where you’re going to be or what you’re going to want to do. This bad boy is waterproof, freezeproof, shockproof, all sorts of -proof!
3. Business Cards – with my name, phone number, email and web address, so that when I meet someone on the road who wants to follow my blog or find me on facebook they don’t have to write it down on a little scrap of paper (that they’ll most probably lose) or try to remember how to spell my name!
4. Moleskine notebook – okay so it doesn’t have to be specifically a Moleskine notebook, any notebook will do. Just to jot down ideas, train times, places people tell you to go etc etc. I also use mine as a sort of journal too, so I can look back through it in years to come and remember all the things I did everyday.
5. A USB stick/pen drive (whatever you want to call it) – put all your important documents on here; copies of your passport, ID, visas, flight itinerary, hostel bookings insurance details etc. Then if anything happens to the originals you’ll always have backups. It’s a good idea to email all these things to yourself too, so you can have access to them from any computer.
