So it’s been a while since I’ve done one of these monthly summaries, mostly just because unfortunately, I haven’t really been travelling that much. Aside from a family holiday to Mauritius over Christmas, the last trip I actually went on was to Amsterdam last October! Spending so much time in one place is a bit of a shock to the system after being away from home for so long! But anyway, January began as December ended – on the beach in Mauritius… not a bad way to start the new year! And then really it was just back to life in London, working part time as a nanny and trying to get as much freelance writing stuff done as possible. I spent a weekend in Norfolk, visiting my family, spent time with friends, went to Cambridge for a day to see my sister at uni, and helped out at the BUNAC Summer Camp fair at the end of the month. So while my weekdays were just spent working and dreaming of sunnier days, my weekends were actually pretty busy this month!
Distance Travelled:
Mauritius to London – 6,054 miles
London to Norwich (RTN) – 236 miles

Total = 6,412 miles

Under £8 per day for January! Amazing. I know that while I’m living in London at the moment I’m (very fortunately) not having to pay rent, so that is a huge cost saver, but it’s still nice to know I can actually have a life in this ridiculously expensive city and actually not really go way over with my spending.
Breakdown of my spending :

Biggest Expense/Unforeseen Splurges: I treated myself to a few new items of clothing this month…havent really bought anything for a while, so it was quite nice to splurge a little.
